About Newlands Holiday Cottages

Newlands Holiday Cottages previously formed part of the Duchy of Lancaster Cloughton Estate. This is a historic portfolio of land that was founded in the 13th century and held in trust for her majesty the Queen. The present Newlands Farm house was built in1778 although the barn was converted into 3 holiday cottages in 2008. They have seen major refurbishment at the beginning of 2015.

There are three barn conversions, which have been furnished and equipped with great attention to detail. Rose, Fern and Lavender Cottage offer a charming base with use of the hot tub and views over glorious countryside towards the sea and Scarborough. For those wanting to stay in a traditional Farm House there is  Newlands Farm House which is a large detached property with private hot tub.

Set amongst rolling hills, the pretty village of Cloughton has a good local inn, which is at the bottom of the drive. Scarborough is only a short drive and other popular seaside villages such as Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby are only down the cost.

The pretty cottages are colour coordinated to their names. Fern in fresh greens and whites, Rose in shades of crimsons and Lavender with accents of shades of lavender. The cottages form a diversification of a working farm that is based in Ruswarp on the edge of Whitby.

Newlands Farm is part of a working Farm. The farm has a dairy unit at the Ruswarp unit and rear Aberdeen Angus cattle at both farms for the British food market. We supply milk to Arla and the cattle are supplied to Dovecote Park.
